Board Member: Mark Dalgleish

Mark Dalgleish

Mark has been attending MCC Melbourne since moving back to Australia from his hometown of Glasgow, Scotland, in February 2011.  He has been an active member of both MCC North London and MCC Glasgow in the UK for a few years, and visited MCC Melbourne informally while living in Geelong in 2007.

He is involved in MCC globally and is a member of the MCC International Taskforce, which was set up by the denomination to examine ways of being a global denomination with local accountability all over the world where MCC is established or being established.

As a keen musician, Mark contributes regularly to worship music within the church, and has been a part of worship teams in numerous MCC churches and Baptist churches since he was a child.

Mark is a qualified doctor, and works mostly in General Practice, with a sub-specialist interest in sexual health (including HIV medicine and family planning) and palliative care.  He also works in Headspace Barwon, supporting young people in holistic integrated care, with a primarily mental health and sexual health focus.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                x

Susan Townsend

Hello, my name is Sue and I live in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges with my partner.

I work in the field of Home and Community Care. This means I go into homes of those who are elderly and/or disabled and help out with showering, house work, shopping, respite care etc.  It is a very rewarding job as it helps these people to be able to stay in their homes rather than be placed into nursing homes.

Between us my partner and I have eight children (four each) and so a lot of our time is spent at family functions.

We also do a lot of bike riding and hiking through nearby Sherbrooke Forest. Apart from that you will find my nose in a good book or doing needlework.

This is our third year at MCCM, although I have attended many other churches over the years.  We have made many friends at MCCM and find the church a great support network.

Suz Newcombe

Treasurer: Suzanne Newcombe

Hi there, my name is Suzanne (Suz) and I have the privilege of being on the MCC Board, where I have held the role of treasurer for the past 6 years.

After retiring in ’09 from Parks Victoria, working in tourism and as a peer (pastoral) support person, I moved to Drouin where I spend much of my time with the loves of my life, my 3 grandchildren, Neisha, Maya & Kaelan, showing them just how eccentric a grey haired granny can be.

My ‘Fairy Grandmother’ persona is a sight to behold, especially when I am in full flight on my electric bicycle!

I love music and singing, especially folk music, and of course in our little choir here at MCC.  I am learning African drumming, which I can see is going to become another passion.

I look forward to meeting you on Sundays over supper following our service.

Lay Delegate: Joan Bartlett

Hi I am Joan, the Lay Delegate on the Board. I keep you up to date with what is happening in the fellowship.

I live in the bush at Warburton with my partner of over 20 years, Linda.  I run my own business in home maintenance and garden contracting.  So mainly, I mow lawns and paint houses - its fun, well for me.
